That Bush and Cheney announcing they will be staying in Washington due to Hurricane Gustav, is nothing but a ploy. I don't think McCain wanted them to be front and center at the convention anyway since both are very very low on the popularity scale.
Could this be a face saving measure for the White House? If the hurricane had not happened, would they have been welcome at the convention? Why are both of them staying in Washington? Are they both needed to watch CNN and see what is happening in New Orleans this time?
