I have a nice HP D4160 printer that I use to print photos. I also use it for scrapbooking and just playing around. Over the last week I made a paper doll out of a photo I had taken of myself. The printer refuses to print it. It did an entire reprint of my friends short story for our writing group. Yet it will NOT print anything I try to send it from Photoshop. I deleted and reinstalled it. Now it will not print anything. It thinks it's a copy of itself. I have no idea what to do at this point. I just took my meds, and I am starting to get frustrated.
I spent a good part of the morning moving stuff around down here so I could set up a nice corner play area. Where I could keep the external hard drive plugged in and the printer could have a real home. It pays me back by not working! Stupid printer you cost next to nothing. I could replace you in a second. Just print the darn paper doll.
Now what you may ask got me started on making a paper doll of my own. Well this amazing artist and creater Liana's Paper doll blog who has me completly hooked on paper dolls. Before I was just looking for the Barbie Paper dolls. Now I keep my eye out for paper dolls when I hit the dollar store. I found some nice coloring books where the characters in the drawings could be turned into paper dolls.
Ya, I'm hook on paper dolls thanks to her. I wish she could make a paper doll of me, because my attempts have been awful. But then, I am starting with me.
Any of my artist friends want to give it a try. I made this using photoshop. The printer refuses to print it. Or anything else. Oh ya. You have got to look at her January 1st dress. Amazing.
PS - I'm going to go lie down for a bit. This weather is killing me.
Thanks for the kind comments! (Glad that you got a new printer, too :) )
ReplyDeleteI think that base could make a decent doll -- if you got the lines cleaned up and thickened a bit it could work, I bet. I did a doll once based on me, which was good fun...
